BACKGROUND
Tim graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2005 having completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, focusing on History and Political Science. Tim joined McLeods as an articled clerk in 2006 after spending twelve months in the Commonwealth Public Service.
Tim has represented local governments in many jurisdictions, including the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court and State Administrative Tribunal. He has also delivered seminars on local government compliance issues and lectured at Curtin University.
EXPERIENCE
Tim is primarily involved in local government law enforcement, which has involved:
• Providing advice to local governments in relation to various enforcement and compliance matters
• Representing local governments in Magistrates Court prosecutions in relation to planning, building, health, dog and parking offences
• Appearing as counsel in the Supreme Court in relation to appeals against local government prosecutions
Tim has also been heavily involved in the firm’s commercial and property work, where his work has included:
• Providing advice to local governments in contractual disputes
• Preparation of all forms of subdivisional and development agreements and documentation
• Drafting commercial and community leases and sale and purchase of land transactions
